Here's a green, cool and cheaper way of getting married.  Instead of using limousines, two couples in Chongqing rode electric bikes to their double wedding earlier this week.

The wedding entourage of 16 electric pedicabs caught the attention of many residents in the southwestern Chinese city, and the happy event was featured in the Chongqing Morning Post.

Zhou Xian Gang, 27, thought of the idea half a year ago, and convinced his sister, who was also getting married, to join him in a joint wedding ceremony using e-bikes produced by the company where he works as their means of transportation.

Other than the charging expenses, the e-bikes cost Zhou nothing extra. Having two weddings in one ceremony also saved quite a bit of overhead.

At the wedding banquet, friends and guests were all praises for the cool, environment-friendly affair.

“It’s good for the environment, and it has a lot of character, suits young people well,” a friend of Zhou's told the Post.

Looks like it could be a good idea for green vehicle makers to consider sponsoring similar activities for promotion.
