Hong Kong airport is stuck in fourth place in the latest rankings by SkyTrax, the British airport review website which crowned Singapore’s Changi as the best in the world for a third year in a row.
Chek Lap Kok Airport last topped the survey in 2011 and has done no better than fourth place since then, according to CNN.
South Korea’s Incheon International took second place this year, followed by Munich Airport.
Changi airport handles 5,000 arrivals and departures a week by 80 international airlines.
This month, Changi awarded a US$234 million construction contract for the expansion of Terminal 1.
The SkyTrax rankings are based on more than 13 million surveys completed by 112 nationalities of airline customers between May and January.
Incheon International Airport near Seoul is the No. 2 airport in the world, also for the third year running.
Rounding out the top 10 are Tokyo International Airport (Haneda), Zurich Airport, Central Japan International Airport, London Heathrow Airport, Amsterdam Schiphol Airport and Beijing Capital International Airport
North America did not have an airport in the top 10 this year.
Vancouver International Airport, the No. 1 airport in North America for a record sixth consecutive year, fell in the global rankings from No. 9 in 2014 to No. 11 this year.
