Hong Kong people take the most selfies when traveling, Apple Daily reported Tuesday, citing a survey on travel habits and trends by Travelzoo.
The survey interviewed 1,000 Hong Kong people in November and covered travels within the Asia-Pacific region.
Nine in 10 said taking selfies is easier than asking strangers to help snap the moment.
More than half said they simply like to take photos of themselves and 13 percent said taking selfies is trendy and allows them to show off on social media.
The survey also found that 95 percent of Hong Kong tourists hit the internet while on holiday. The figure is 28 percent higher than for the Japanese and Australians.
About 75 percent of the respondents said they use the internet to communicate and search driving routes while 53 percent said they use it for work-related tasks such as sending and checking e-mails.
More than half of Hong Kong travelers upload pictures of food to their Facebook accounts.
Seventy percent said they would buy travel products and packages directly online while more than half said they would make similar purchases on their smartphones or tablet computers in the next 12 months.
