Mom slapped, kicked me, says Leung’s daughter

Leung Chai-yan, the controversial elder daughter of Hong Kong’s chief executive, said on her Facebook page she will leave home forever, after complaining that her mother hit her in a rage.

“My mother literally just pushed me up against a wall slapped me and called me a [stupid ... whore ...] kicked me — I fell, hit my spine against corner of study table. Lovely,” Leung wrote.

She said her mother, Regina Leung Tong Ching-yee, threatened to call the police and carpet-searched her room.

“I genuinely think if I were on the 20th floor of a building instead of being in [Government House], I [would've] jumped … There is no way out,” Leung, 23, wrote.

“I honestly wouldn’t give a single f**k if my parents died right now right this minute.”

Leung wrote: “I’d rather be living on benefits sleeping on a coach eating cup noodles everyday than living the life I’m living right now …

“I’m leaving home. I won’t even be at my mother’s funeral.”

In a post titled “Leaving Home Forever”, she wrote: “I’ve fought this battle for way way too long — since I was a 14/ 15. If I need to better my life and find happiness, this is what I’ve gotta do.”

Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying declined to comment Tuesday, apart from asking the public to “give her some room”.

Last month, Leung Chai-yan reportedly signed a contract to take a lead role in a movie starring pop singer Don Li Yat-long.

However, the film’s director, Wynn Lau Chun-fai, later complained that she had not shown up for the film shoot and promotional activities.

Chai-yan captured the attention of the public last year when she posted a photo of her cut wrist on Facebook, which prompted concern that she was harming herself.

She was a law student at the London School of Economics at the time but has since suspended her studies.
