Boss orchestrates holiday of a lifetime for Chinese workers

Thousands of Chinese workers traveled to the Netherlands on a five-day holiday paid for by their company.

Perfect (China) Co. Ltd., a health food and personal care products company owned by a Malaysian Chinese businessman, booked more than 16,000 five-star hotel room nights in three different cities for the 4,500 employees, am730 reported Thursday.

The company spent an estimated seven million euros (US$7.88 million) to bring them in several groups to the western European country in late May.

The largest groups went to  Rotterdam, The Hague and Amsterdam, the Dutch capital.

A sales clerk in a kitchen utensils store said the tourists spent 500 euros to 1,000 euros each in the shop.

Meanwhile, a group of about 3,400 Chinese tourists poured into Japan’s Hokkaido island on a holiday cruise on Friday.

A local resident described the scene as a “great Chinese migration”.
