Woman in hot water after giving waiter a bad review

A waiter at a hotpot restaurant poured boiling water on a customer right after she published a bad review on social media complaining about his bad attitude, Apple Daily reported Wednesday.

The 29-year-old woman, surnamed Lin, was dining at a hot-pot restaurant in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province, with her mother, sister and seven-month-old son.

She asked the 17-year-old waiter, surnamed Zhu, to add soup to the pot.

Zhu said he would but failed to do so.

After repeated requests from Lin, Zhu finally told her there was no need to add more soup, as there was enough in the pot.

Lin criticized Zhu’s bad attitude on her Weibo account, calling the attention of the restaurant’s boss to it by tagging his Weibo account.

Closed-circuit television in the restaurant then captured Zhu pouring a basin of hot water over Lin’s head and hitting and kicking her.

Zhu tried to flee but was later arrested.

Lin was sent to hospital.

The doctor said she had severe burns on 42 percent of her skin, including on the head, arms and legs.
