AV Concept eyes online mall, mobile advertising businesses

AV Concept Holdings (00595.HK), which is involved in electronic products and related items, is gearing up to tap into online network related businesses, setting sights on online shopping and mobile advertising platforms.

The company’s mobile apps subsidiary Koocell is partnering with Taiwan mobile advertising platform AdLocus to launch a new business next month, the Hong Kong Economic Journal cited chief executive So Chi-on as saying.

The business will be targeted at smartphone users.

AV Concept is in talks with app operators that focus on shopping malls and movie publishing, among other things, for opportunities.

The company believes it can get 30 to 50 percent advertising revenue share from the business.

Meanwhile, it is also exploring the online shopping business through a 75-percent owned subsidiary in mainland China which is now a supplier to Samsung Electronics.

In other plans, an 18-percent owned online game developer unit, Me2on, is said to be mulling a listing on the Growth Enterprise Market board in Hong Kong next year.
