Best of British, a British cultural festival, will premiere in Hong Kong next month.
Admission is free at an open-air cinema to be set up at the Tamar Park on Nov. 2-4, Apple Daily reported on Friday.
Popular British movies such as Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Sherlock Holmes and Notting Hill will be screened at the outdoor cinema, which can accommodate up to 1,000 people.
Carnaby Street, a shopping street in Westminster, central London, will be replicated at the Chater Garden in Central on Nov. 12-14, with 13 British fashion brands showing off their collections.
Project director Alex Brazendale said traditional British specialties such as fish and chips, craft beers and other delicacies will be on offer at the fair.
“All ingredients and food items are imported from the UK to ensure visitors the full flavors of the country,” Brazendale said.
A classic double-decker bus will take visitors around the fair grounds, allowing them to catch the sights and sounds of British culture.
Red postboxes carrying the royal insignia will also be set up, and British royal guards will be posted all over the place.
For a taste of English humor, be sure to visit the Chater Garden between Nov. 18 and 20, when several well-known British comedians will be on stage for a series of stand-up gigs.
Demonstrations on making British cocktails, musical performances and quiz shows will also be presented.
There’s also a lawn party to be held at Tamar Park on Nov. 22.
Brazendale stressed that Best of British is purely a cultural event with no politics involved, and some 20,000 people are expected to attend the various attractions and shows.
