A 31-year-old woman crashed her Ferrari sports car into a tree in Hong Kong’s Aberdeen district, saying she mistook the gas pedal for the brakes.
The woman, surnamed So, regained consciousness in a hospital after being knocked out in the crash.
She is in stable condition, according to Apple Daily.
The red Ferrari California, which cost HK$3 million (US$387,000) in 2011, was severely damaged.
The accident happened at 2 a.m. on Sunday as So was driving toward the Aberdeen tunnel.
She said she pressed on the accelerator thinking it was the brake pedal, losing control of the vehicle as it went full throttle for about 300 meters.
The Ferrari clipped three roadside barriers before slamming into a tree and hitting another.
Police said So was not drunk but investigations are continuing.
The Ferrari California has a top speed of 310 kilometers per hour.
It can hit 100 kph from a standing start in 3.9 seconds.
