Chinese dama slammed for ‘disgusting’ behavior on flight

A Chinese woman who put her bare feet on an armrest while aboard an AirAsia flight drew a lot of negative comments from netizens who called her behavior disgusting, Ming Pao Daily reported on Friday.

A passenger on the same flight from Bangkok to Xi’an, the capital of Shaanxi province, took pictures of the incident and posted them on Weibo.

During the flight, the middle-aged woman took off her shoes and socks before putting her bare feet on an armrest of the seat in front of hers.

The passenger who took the pictures said the woman clearly did not care what other passengers thought about her bad manners and even ignored the advice of cabin attendants to put down her feet.

Another netizen suggested that the passenger seated behind her should have also rested their feet on the armrest of the woman’s seat to let her understand how others feel about her behavior.

The photo-taker wondered if the cabin attendants were afraid to raise an issue because she is Chinese.

Back in December last year, a Chinese man who took an AirAsia flight from Bangkok to Nanjing, Jiangsu province, threw hot water and instant noodles at a female attendant to express his dissatisfaction with the airline service.

Chinese authorities have repeatedly warned travelers to behave properly when traveling overseas, but sometimes some people just don’t care.
