Netizens lash out over bulldog abuse, shaming

There are naughty dogs and then there are naughty dogs who are abused for being “foul mouthed”.

And they also get shamed on the internet.

Whatever reason the perpetrator might have, netizens don’t agree with it and they want the police to investigate, Headline Daily reports.

The online firestorm was triggered by a photo of a bulldog muzzled with an iron chain and with “Excuse my foul mouth” scribbled on a piece of cardboard hung on its neck.

The photo has gone viral on social media.

The dog was painted with blue eyebrows and a blue triangle around its nose with a felt-tipped marker pen.

Netizens went to work to try to pin down the poster and urged the police to investigate.

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals said ink from a marker pen could damage animal skin because it contains certain chemicals.

It said the owner might have been trying to teach the dog a lesson for biting or barking but such punishment doesn’t work.

Instead, it ruins trust between human and animal and makes their relationship difficult to repair, it said.
