Thief in suitcase arrested on Shenzhen-HK cross-border bus

Mainland Chinese police arrested three mainlanders, one of them a teenage boy, for theft last week on a cross-border bus bound for Hong Kong from Shenzhen Bay, Headline Daily reported Tuesday.

The boy, surnamed Zhang, was found curled up inside a suitcase in the luggage compartment of the coach.

His job was to steal from other passengers’ luggage while the bus was in motion, police said.

Police at the Shenzhen Bay bus depot arrested the teen and two men on the bus, who did not have valid travel documents.

The trio have criminal records for theft.

No losses were reported.
