Schoolchildren safe as bus catches fire

A bus carrying more than 20 schoolchildren caught fire in Admiralty shortly after it was evacuated.

No one was hurt.

The incident occurred at 8 a.m. on Wednesday when the bus was traveling in Queensway.

The driver safely got the children off the bus after smoke began to fill the cabin, Sing Tao Daily reports.

Shortly after, it caught fire, causing an hour-long traffic jam.

Firefighters arrived after the driver had unsuccessfully fought the blaze with a fire extinguisher.

Investigators said the engine might have overheated.
