Man escapes with minor injuries after crashing his Porsche

A man escaped with minor injuries after crashing his Porsche into a lamp-post in Hong Kong on Wednesday, the latest accident case involving a luxury vehicle in the city.

The motorist, who was in his 60s, was moving along Braemar Hill Road and heading to North Point when the accident took place.

According to news website hk01.com, the driver lost control of his car, causing the black-colored vehicle to hurtle on to the pavement and ram into a light pole.

The car was severely damaged due to the powerful collision, but luckily the driver was able to get out of the vehicle with just a few minor injuries.

He was apparently saved by two airbags that popped out from the dashboard immediately after the collision.

No others were hurt in the incident that took place at about 10 minutes after 5 pm opposite the Church of Christ in China Kwei Wah Shan College.

Police officers who arrived at the scene suspect the driver might have stepped on the accelerator pedal by mistake when he should have actually decelerated the car on a downward slope.

The driver was sent to Eastern Hospital for medical attention.
