Old man stayed with daughter’s body for 3 days at Tuen Mun flat

An 82-year-old man suffering from dementia was found to have stayed with the corpse of his 56-year-old daughter for three days at their flat in Tuen Mun.

Police found the woman’s body on the balcony of the flat at Century Gateway on Thursday, after neighbors complained of an unbearable smell and a pool of blood seeping out from under the door of the house, Sing Tao Daily reports.

The single woman, surnamed Ng, was found lying in a pool of blood with her hands tied with nylon strings.

There were no signs of struggle or a break-in at the flat.

Investigators found it hard to communicate with the old man, but it is believed that the daughter might have had an accidental fall inside the bathroom, injured her head and later died.

The woman reportedly had a heart ailment.

The old man apparently did not know how to handle the situation or call the police.

Investigators said he probably tied the hands of his daughter to be able to drag her to the balcony as the body was starting to smell.

Police were trying to reach the old man’s relatives, Ming Pao Daily reported.

A similar case was reported on Oct. 8, when a mentally handicapped man, 48, was found to have stayed home with the corpse of his 70-year-old mother for nearly a week in Sha Tin.
