Domestic helper hangs herself in Aberdeen flat

A 48-year-old domestic helper hanged herself in an Aberdeen flat where she lived with her employer.

The victim was found hanging from a bunk bed in her room with a bed sheet tied around her neck, Apple Daily reports, citing police investigators.

The cause of the suicide is being investigated. Her nationality was not given.

The woman’s 86-year-old employer, surnamed Chan, found her hanging unconscious at about 8.40 a.m. on Sunday in her Bayshore Apartments residence.

She had been hired to care for Chan.

Police officers and paramedics certified her dead at the scene.

No suicide note was found and police said there was nothing suspicious about her death.

The victim had been unhappy during the days leading up to her death, Sky Post reports.
