Donald Tsang ‘to be sent to Stanley Prison’

Disgraced former chief executive Donald Tsang will serve his 20-month jail sentence in Stanley Prison, RTHK reports, citing unnamed sources.

Tsang is expected to be moved from the Lai Chi Kok Reception Center on Friday.

Tsang is being sent to the maximum security prison at Stanley because of who he is. He will be given free time away from other inmates and will likely occupy a single cell, RTHK says.

Stanley Prison also houses former chief secretary Rafael Hui who is serving a seven-and-a-half year sentence for a string of bribery and misconduct charges linked to Thomas Kwok of Sun Hung Kai Properties.

Convicted in 2014, Hui pocketed almost HK$20 million in bribes.
