A young man, who had nothing on except his shoes, caused a stir among rush-hour commuters as he calmly fell in line and rode MTR trains on Wednesday evening.
No untoward incident happened, however, except that some commuters insisted on taking phone-camera shots of the naked man, news website hk01.com reports.
Images of the man, said to be about 20 years old, quickly spread on social media.
He was seen waiting for an MTR ride on an MTR platform at the Admiralty station carrying a wallet and a mobile phone.
Police said they received a report from MTR staff at the North Point station at around 7:00 p.m. that a naked young man was on a train to Central and later on a Chai Wan-bound train.
An MTR spokesman also said staff were notified by a passenger at the Tsim Sha Tsui station that there was a naked man on the platform.
But when staff arrived at the scene, they learned that the man had boarded a train to Admiralty, prompting them to inform the operations control center.
At the Admiralty station, staff stood by the naked man and an MTR employee followed him as he boarded the train.
Police officers arrested him as he got off the train at the North Point station.
Initial investigation showed that the man had mental health issues.
