Wang urged Hong Kong to deal with basic issues such as China’s overall jurisdiction over Hong Kong, the high degree of autonomy for Hong Kong, “one country, two systems” and the Basic Law.
According to Ip, Wang quoted President Xi Jinping as saying national security is paramount and that Hong Kong people need to enhance their national awareness.
Also, Wang cited the political neutrality of civil servants and urged them to continue to support the government.
