Renowned martial arts novelist Louis Cha Leung-yung, better known by his pen name Jin Yong, and Stan Lee, the legendary writer, editor and publisher of Marvel Comics, passed away recently, but their works will live on.
They have created something that most people would never imagine. And their achievements have proved to us the power of imagination.
Characters in their stories are often highly inspiring. Take Captain America as an example. Though he is not the most powerful among Stan Lee’s superheroes, he has a strong belief that he can make it, which helped him become one of the leaders.
That kind of strong faith in oneself is a must-have power for successful startup founders.
Heroes do not have to be perfect, the key is they never give up — this is another important message from the two artists.
Iron Man Tony Stark is a genius scientist, but he always feels insecure and he is not good at communicating with his father or his loved ones. Yet he was able to build a powerful suit of armor after having been seriously injured and kept under captivity, in order to save his life.
In the real world, most people would give up when they face difficulties. But superheroes like Iron Man, or Cha’s Guo Jing would never give up no matter what kind of tough situations they are in.
Superheroes such as Spiderman or Zhang Wuji in the Sword and the Knife have strong sense of responsibility and mission. Those who want to be in the innovation and technology business need the same kind of values and be able to stick to it.
