New electronic kiosks introduced in 13 public hospitals

The Hospital Authority has introduced more than 30 new one-stop electronic kiosks in 13 public hospitals recently.

The new electronic kiosks in Princess Margaret Hospital, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Queen Mary Hospital and other public hospitals offer enhanced functions for registration and payment for specialist outpatient services, saving time for queuing up.

Patients or their carers can use either the appointment slip or the patient’s Hong Kong Identity Card to register for consultation and settle consultation fees and drug charges.

The new kiosks accept payments by Octopus and contactless credit cards issued by local banks.

The authority has already added e-wallet option to the payment counters of public hospitals, and this will also be among the new functionalities to be introduced to the kiosks in the future as the government gradually replaces the old models.
